Email update, 20 July 2012

We are in Broome until 24th July and are enjoying the warm days and must warmer nights. Broome is just full of tourists especially grey nomads.
We thought Katherine had progressed since our last visit and is quite a modern town. We left there 6th July and spent two free camps on the
way to Kununurra. Across the border into WA and we had to stop at the quarantine station and they took an onion off us and a cucumber off
the others. We arrived Kununurra 8th July for a week. Enjoyed our week there and caught up on washing shopping and sightseeing. Even spent a half day
at Kununurra Show. Drove to Wyndham one day past Parrys Lagoon and the view from the lookout Wyndham is spectacular.
Then we travelled onto Halls Creek, Fitzroy Crossing to Broome with three free camps on the way. At Mary Pool free camp there would
have been 100 vans for the overnight.

Plenty of caravans on the roads and at the free camps. Broome is just crawling with us all. We have seen more of Broome this trip and it is
a lovely holiday spot. Will probably go to view the sunset tonight. The Kimberleys are just amazing and the colours and formations breathtaking.

All travelling well and so far so good. Poppa is today changing a reading light to 12volt as when we free camp it was a bit hard to read at night from the dome light
in the ceiling.

Next week we travel down to Port Headland and should get some fishing in along the coastline.

Must away and love to all. Ma and Poppa

Email Update:

Hi All

Still travelling well and enjoying the sights.

We left Mt Isa and travelled to Cape Crawford (Via Camooweal and Brunette Downs) When we got there, there was only the pub with the caravan park which
did not look inviting so we went across to the Gulf of Carpentaria and stayed at Borroloola. A very friendly town and another 60km to Bing Bong which is on the Gulf and where they export zinc. Nothing much else there except fishing. The boys did not catch anything but did try.

Then we travelled across to Daly Waters and visited the famous PUB with all its history attached. Just spent 1 night in Katherine and another tonight.
Katherine is a modern town and very tidy. We did the gorge tour on a previous trip so have just washed, stocked the pantry, and enjoyed power for our stay.

Tomorrow we leave for Kununurra where we will stay a week. Will spend 2 nights free camping on the way. The nights have been cold but the days are warm.

Meeting lots of lovely people who are travelling and the roads out here are just full of caravans. Everywhere we go the caravans are just lined up. Even the free
camps are packed. Katherine relies on tourists and I can honestly say I have never seen more anywhere else. Woolworths was a nightmare in Katherine not
only finding a park but the queues in Woolworths was frustrating.

Must away and dont forget to checkout the blog that H has set up www.poppandma.blogspot.com.au

Love to all. Miss you heaps. Ma and Poppa
